I received these beautiful jars from a company called Infinity Jars in exchange for a blog post. Although I received these for free I have not received any monetary compensation and all thoughts are my own.

When I received my package I was quite impressed; these jars were packed extremely well along with a cleaning cloth and labels. They sent me one each 100 ml and 30 ml glass screw top jar, which are perfect for storing DIY skincare and herbs and one 500 ml square glass bottle with oil spout for storing oils. I am in LOVE with these glass jars and will be ordering them regularly. I accidentally dropped one when unpacking (oops) and thought for sure it was going to break, and not even a scratch! Wow, these are super durable!

Here’s a little rundown on these jars:

  • Made from premium imported European glass
  • Ultraviolet light filtering
  • Lightproof
  • Preserves for 6 + months
  • Scent-proof
  • Airtight

The secret to Infinity Jars’ impressive preservation capability is found in the deep violet glass. This type of pigmented glass blocks out harmful visible light rays while still permitting two beneficial light rays that are laboratory proven to preserve and extend the shelf life of goods.

I’ve currently been switching over to an all natural skin care routine and have wanted to make my own hand and body lotion, so when I received these jars I thought what a perfect time to make one, especially now that I have the perfect jar to store it in!

I have made masks, scrubs and oil moisturizer but this was the first time making a lotion. I couldn’t believe how easy it was; it look literally 10 minutes to make. I adapted a recipe from one of my favorite blogs – Wellness Mama .

I wanted to make it vegan so I omitted beeswax and used candelilla wax instead, but you could also use caranuba wax. For essential oils, I decided to use uplifting and energizing ones so I chose lemon and grapefruit which turned out to be a great combination. My skin has been so dry lately due to the harsh winter weather here in Edmonton so I was pleasantly surprised at how moisturizing this lotion is, my hands finally felt some relief!

I love the feeling of putting homemade, natural and organic ingredients on my skin; especially since most of what we apply to our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream. I have put chemicals on my skin forever, and now that I have used natural and organic skin care I will never go back!

I’m so happy I have the perfect jar to store my lotion in; I am confident it will keep and last for at least 6 months (although it will be all used up by then). If you have yet to make DIY skincare I hope you try this recipe so you see how easy it is for yourself!
